October Fun!

Well I haven't posted much of late, trying to get through the sickness making its rounds through all of us, with Papa and Momma getting it the worst. With that said, if we had to get sick I'm glad it was us and not the kids. I should say they didn't get it anywhere near as bad as us.

I finally have posted just a few more photos for October.

The weather has changed to Fall now and the colors are just beautiful! We have stayed in as the weather has gotten cold and rainy, but we did go out one day and I got Miss Magoo and Mister stomping in the rain puddles. They were having way too much fun to say the least!

Halloween came, it was Mister's first and this momma had to miss it. Yes, I was way too sick to go out. I didn't want to chance getting any sicker. But papa took the kids out early and had them home early. They got tons of candy!

I honestly haven't decided if we will continue to trick or treat next year, but for now the kids seemed to have a good time and it's all about the candy for them anyway.

Here's to a healthier month for November and looking forward to Grandma's wedding at Thanksgiving.

A great weekend!

This last weekend we celebrated a very special Chinese holiday. The Moon Festival. We were actually a week off but it we celebrated anyway. Everyone brought a Chinese food dish of some type and boy was it good!

Miss Magoo really enjoyed dressing up in her Chinese dress and said she had a good time. There was a 10 mos old baby girl that just came home from China in September and Mister just couldn't get enough of her. He was so so sweet and every time she would drop her binkie he would pick it up and give it to her.

Then on Sunday we had Mister's dedication at church. I'm not sure if he knew what was happening but he was taking it all in.

If you would like to see the actually dedication you can go here. Click on 10:00 Full Service video. That will take you to it and fast forward to approx. 23:13 on the counter to be able to see it.

We had such a great weekend!!

Squirrels and God

Yesterday after church while driving to pick up some "free" puzzles from someone's house, I noticed a dead squirrel on the side of the road.

I said out loud, "oh poor squirrel." Miss Magoo became quite concerned and asked, "what happened to the squirrel, momma?

I let her know that he got hit and she finished with saying, "he died?" "Yes, sweet girl, he died."

"Why he died?" I explained because he probably got hit by a car. So not much more came of the conversation.

Then later that night, much later, on the way home from Alpha, out of the blue, Miss Magoo asked about the squirrel again.

"Momma, where's the squirrel?" "Did he die?" "Yes, sweet girl, he died."

"Oh that makes me sad." I let her know that it was ok and that the squirrel was ok and that he was in Heaven with God. "But I want to get the squirrel and pick him up and hold him like a baby and kiss him and make him happy."

She then asked why he was in Heaven with God. I told her, "because he died and God made the squirrel, so God will take care of him."

Her little voice became very concerned and she kept saying that she wanted to take care of the squirrel. I wish there was a way for you to hear her voice at this point. It was so filled with compassion for this little creature. It just broke my heart that she couldn't help the squirrel, but at the same time, it just melted my heart that she has such compassion for one of God's creatures.

So in the end, Miss Magoo decided all was ok with the little squirrel since he was in Heaven with God and God was taking care of him.

Love this girl!!!

Happy Birthday Mister!

Mister turned 2 today!!

This is our first birthday with him since having him home, so it's a special one indeed!!

We had a little family celebration. Papa stayed home from work and we went to the park and then went and picked up big brother Jacob so he could come and be a part of Mister's day.

I know I don't post much about Jacob, but I will say that he is quite the baker. He made Elijah's cake and it was from scratch!

So we sang Happy Birthday and had Mister open a couple of gifts. He was so enthralled with his presents he didn't even want to stop to eat cake. I mean we put him up to the table and he threw a fit! So we put him down and he was back to his happy little self. :)

I don't think I've ever seen a kid pass up cake before. It was quite funny to say the least. :)

After we celebrated, we took Jacob back to his house, since it wasn't our weekend with him and then off to the doctor's to get a PPD test and some blood work done on the Birthday boy.

Poor kid, not a fun way to end his special day, but I have to say he didn't make a peep when they tried to take his blood. He sat in Papa's lap and he even extended his arm out without being asked. What a sweetie. Mister got a fun pair of bright green sunglasses for his visit.

Well Grandma and soon to be Grandpa (my mom is getting married) couldn't make it today, so we'll be having a party in October along with some friends.

It was a full day and we are just thanking God for our boy and getting to celebrate the first of many birthday's to come!

A weekend in California

Well I've finally put together pictures and video of the kids cousin's (Mike and Jen) wedding and our time at the beach in California from the last weekend in August.

It was a very quick weekend. Flew in on Sat afternoon and left Mon afternoon. But we all had a great time none-the-less.

The wedding was beautiful and the reception was fun! The favors were the Bride and Grooms favorite candies. What a great idea!

We stayed with Grandma and Gene in his motor home and thank goodness they had air conditioning, it was hot to say the least! It was 104 on Sat, 105 on Sun and 102 on Mon.

We drove down Pacific Coast Highway before the wedding on Sunday and stopped and played at the beach. The kids had so much fun! Especially Mister in the water.

Oh and one more thing...

The kids Grandma announced that she and Gene are getting married!! I'm so excited for my mom and Gene is a great guy. I'm so happy the kids will have a Grandpa! As my mom is the only grand parent they have.

End of Summer Celebration

This past Sunday after church they put on an end of summer celebration.

It was so much fun to sit and have lunch (ok way too much yummy food) and visit with friends and take the little ones around to have some fun.

Miss Magoo had a couple of firsts that day. She went down the big slide, with help of course, but she did it, yay!

She also got her face painted. We have tried to have it done at other places but she would always back out at the last minute, so it was great to see her do it this time. She wanted a horse, her favorite thing in the world! And it even came with glitter!

Mister just had plain ole fun! I bet he would have gone down the slide if we would have let him. :) I think his favorite was the old 1926 Bentley. He could actually get in and play and push things. His most favorite thing to do in the world!

It was a beautiful day all around and the kids were just pooped by the end of it. They slept all the way home. They were still asleep when we pulled in the drive, so instead of waking them up, Papa reclined his seat and took a nap right along with them.

What a great ending to a perfect day!

Miss Magoo's birthday gift to Momma

I had a birthday last week and even though it wasn't exactly a memorable one, well I guess it was, lol. :) I was really sick and we had to take Papa to the hospital at 11:00 at night and didn't get home until 3:00 am. But we're both all better now.

What I wanted to share was the other night, Miss Magoo says to me, "Momma you get married today."

I replied with, "I get married today, who will I marry?"

"Papa." "You will kiss and be married."

She then asks, "Where's Jacob?" I said, "He's at home with his Momma."

She proceeds to tell me, "Jacob will stand next to me and I will see you get married."

"You will see us get married" I asked?

"Yes Momma, this is my birthday gift to you!"

How stinkin' cute is that?! :)

1st medical checkup for Mister

We had Mister's first medical check up since coming home from China.

In almost one month, he has grown 1 inch and gained 3 lbs.! The doctor was impressed.

I have to say so were we. :)
I guess we are doing something right.

She also said it looks like his palate is repaired. We also only had to do blood work since he had his immunizations done in China. Mister only squirmed when they put the needle in and that was it, what a brave little boy he was, no crying at all this time. Bless his heart!

Oh and Miss Magoo is now 37 inches tall and weighs 33 lbs. Such a big girl. :)
