A Day at the Fair

The State Fair comes every year the last week of August through Labor Day and since we only live a few miles from the Fairgrounds we make a point to go every year, especially since we brought Miss Magoo home.

She absolutely loves the pony rides! They are her favorite thing to do at the fair, besides ride in the stroller. She just thinks that's the cat's pajamas.

This year she wanted to go on the big Ferris wheel, but of course she was way to small and when we started to walk away she became so upset, she cried and cried. So we went over to the kiddy rides and she was too short for them as well. So maybe next year she can go on the rides.

Miss Magoo enjoyed the piggies and the bunnies, since she has one, a bunny that is. His name is Bunny Foo Foo.

She even enjoyed the food! She had a big hot dog and some Aussie Bloomin' Onions. That's what's in the picture.

The weather was perfect, not to hot, not to cold. So we could really enjoy the fair this year.

A new look

As you can see I had Miss Magoo's site redone.

Many of you know why this change has occurred and it just breaks my heart that it had to be done at all.

Without going into great detail and for those who may be reading this for the first time, we had to make the change since we had to make the hardest decision in our lives and not go forward with our adoption of Camden.

If I can ask anything of you that would be to please pray for him, that he will find a forever family!

My dear sweet Camden, we will love you always!

Cute pictures and a cute story

I just had to share these!

This is the outfit Miss Magoo picked out to wear to go to the store. I asked her if she wanted to wear some shorts and a t-shirt and she said, no she wanted to wear that one and pointed to the outfit you see in the pictures. Pretty fancy for running to the store, don't you think? :)

Then yesterday, Friday, while we were waiting for her Papa during his doctor's appointment, Miss Magoo saw a paperback book on the table next to us. She says, "Momma read." So she picked up the book and started to point at the words and talk like she's reading aloud from the book. Next thing she says is, "See Momma (while pointing to the book) about Go_." I said, "are you reading about God?" She answers, "yes Momma, God, a book about God."

I just melted. We read together all the time, but we do have a few favorites and they are about God and Jesus. I just love that she gets what we are reading about.

That's our girl!!!

Yesterday we decided to take a day trip to the WA coast. Even though it felt like it was going to threaten rain, we went anyway. It was exactly what we needed as we wait for our medical update on Boo.

It was Miss Magoo's first time flying a kite and she loved it! Momma and Papa had a good time too.

It was so relaxing to be at the beach, hardly anyone was there. We found a place to stay the next time we decide to go since it's really quite far (a 3 hr drive) from where we live. But it was so worth the drive!

Now back to the wait.

While we are waiting for our news about Boo, we distracted ourselves with a day trip to Vancouver, B.C.

We met a family from England, Sharon and Mark and enjoyed our day with them and there 2 kids Charlotte and Matthew. We love going to Vancouver, especially Chinatown, where we spent our day.

Miss Magoo sure enjoyed playing with Charlotte and Matthew. I hope Sharon and Mark enjoyed the day as well. We will be keeping in touch and may be able to see them again, in England, when my niece graduates from Vet School in Scotland.

On Sunday, we went to our first agency's annual pignic. It's called a pignic because they actually have a whole roasted pig for everyone to enjoy. It's always held at the same park near the beach which is wonderful!

Miss Magoo can never get enough of the water, whether it's the beach, pool or even the bath. She lives in the water and would all year if we would let her.

It was great to see the families from the "pilot" group. We were the first families to adopt from the Special Needs program with our agency. We were missing Nicole, Todd, their boys and Autumn as they live across the country.

A big thank you to Bridget for taking Camie into the water. Poor Bridget, Camie wouldn't leave her alone, she kept reaching for Bridget's hand and guiding her back into the water.

Again, it was a nice way to think about something else (even if it was for a little while) while we wait for our news.
